Original Title: RTL8188CU Realtek Wireless USB AdapterI bought a wifi adapter dongle RTL8188CU Realtek Wireless USB Adapter via Aliexpress with whom I have a problem and I can not connect to the Internet. The device is operating normally on windows 7 but with windows 10 can not work.
Thesame story is when I try on windows 8.1, is not working. I've tried many types of drivers but it's always the same story. The problem is that it connects to my router, but it shows the SSID reported that there is no internet access. Hecan not obtain an IP address from the router via DHCP. Please note that the Windows 7 device is operating normally, even with the windows drivers. Does anybody can help me?

I have a Realtek RTL8192CU USB Wireless LAN Adapter (manufactured by TP-Link) which was working fine under Windows 7 SP1. No problems at all.Since upgrading (clean install) to Windows 10 Pro, the adapter keeps dropping the connection under load and (apparently) having to be reset. Occasionally it disappears completely and I have to unplug and re-insert the USB cable.Windows recognised the device during the install and installed drivers for it (Realtek driver version 1027.4.630.2015) which it says are up to date and, allegedly, 'the best driver'.I also tried installing (manually) the TP-link Windows 8.1 x64 driver and it seemed to work but suffered from exactly the same problem as the default Realtak driver, so I have now rolled back to that.I'm not interested in hearing that this is a 'manufacturer problem' or that I should buy a new adapter.
Windows 10 should work with existing hardware supported by qualifying OS versions, especially as MS are so keen for users to upgrade. Is there anything I can do (event log etc.) to find out what's causing this issue? Maybe I can change one of the advanced settings of the device to prevent this happening? Failing that, it would be nice if MS could look into providing (or getting Realtek toprovide) an updated driver that doesn't do this. Thanks in advance:). Hi Steve,Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I regret the inconvenience caused to you.
Hi Aswin, thanks. There are no onscreen error messages. The adapter simply disconnects from the router and then reconnects after a few seconds. It's not a hardware problem - the same adapter was running fine on the same PC under windows 7. The problem only occurs since I installed Windows 10.The netsh wlan show wlanreport command shows a LOT of 'disconnected by driver' events.
This happens when connected toeither of my wireless routers from two different manufacturers and connections don't seem to last much longer than a couple of minutes at most, often less than a minute.I have tried installing the Windows 8.1 x64 driver from the manufacturer using a manual install and 'have disk' method but this seems no better than the default Realtek driver installed by Windows when it first discovered the adapter. The Windows 7 x64 driver from the manufacturer is little better (if at all) and still drops out frequently. How do I install this driver in compatibility mode? It doesn't have a setup.exe - just the.inf file.
